Our Impact

Award-winning Spaces

Over the last 20 years, the Sevenoaks School Foundation has invested £75m in the school’s world-class teaching, learning and living spaces.

These exceptional and award-winning buildings are at the heart of the campus and are enjoyed by students, staff and the local community.

New House

New House is the school’s latest boarding house to be supported by the Foundation. It accommodates 60 girls, which has increased the boarding population to a total of 450 students from Year 9 to the Upper Sixth.

New House

Girls' Boarding House

New House is the sister house to Aisher in its design and location. It combines spacious, modern boarding with wood panelling and other traditional materials. New House has been built with a sustainable approach: materials used minimise embodied carbon; the house is all electric; it has MVHR ventilation systems; and heat comes from an air-source heat pump installation.

The house features en-suite rooms, a large common room, a bright and airy kitchen, workrooms, computer rooms and social spaces. The position of New House puts it at the centre of our boarding community, close to Park Grange, Aisher House and the International Centre.

Aisher House

The RIBA award-winning Aisher House opened in 2019 to boarders. Supported by the Foundation, the house is named after the Aisher family who are among Sevenoaks School’s greatest historical benefactors.

Aisher House

Boys' Boarding House

One of our pair of super-modern houses, Aisher won two prestigious architecture awards in 2022: RIBA South East Award and RIBA National Award.

Aisher is an unassuming, relaxed and happy home to 60 boarders, and house staff. It is situated alongside other boarding houses: Park Grange, New House and the International Centre.

Students’ study bedrooms are clustered around their own social and communal hubs, which link up to provide all year groups with light, modern facilities.

The house is named after the Aisher Family who had a significant impact on the development of Sevenoaks School. Jack Aisher was a local businessman and philantropist, and when he joined the Board of Governors, it was the beginning of what has been described as ‘the golden period’ for the school.

Soon after joining, Jack offered to match any sum raised for a new classroom and dining hall complex. These were completed in 1967 alongside the Aisher Hall Music Centre which was a personal gift of Eileen Aisher, Jack’s first wife, which undoubtedly raised the standard of music at the school to the level it is today.

Science & Technology Centre

The Campaign for Sevenoaks School raised over £11m for the Science & Technology Centre and Global Study Centre. The buildings have received four prestigious design and innovation awards.

Science & Technology Centre

Atrium and 30 laboratories

The Science and Technology Centre unites the sciences and offers the latest innovative digital technology for collaborative and interdiscliplinary working.

Science is a way of thinking which requires courage to question the conventional wisdom and an openness to see the world and universe from a new perspective. The state-of-the-art centre equips students with the learning environment they need to become world leaders and innovators in the STEM disciplines.

Classrooms are arranged around the atrium and are separated from the circulation space by glass vitrines – display cases filled with student project work and other display items.

The space also has a wider public benefit in enhancing our partnership programme with local primary and secondary school students.

Climbing wall

The Sennocke Centre comprises a fitness suite, studio, swimming pool, squash courts, climbing wall, an eight-court sports hall and tennis courts.

The facilities are used by students and staff and are open to members of the local community, with a variety of junior and adult courses and sports clubs.
